The All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination (AISSEE) 2023 has received official notification from the National Testing Agency (NTA).
The enrollment of sainik students in classes VI and IX at 33 sainik schools nationwide for the academic year 2023–2024.
Residential schools with an English medium that are part of CBSE are known as Sainik Schools and are run by the Sainik Schools Society (Ministry of Defence). They prepare cadets for admission to the Indian Naval Academy, the National Defense Academy, and other officer-training institutions.

Admission Criteria for Sainik Schools
Candidates must have the following educational requirements in order to participate in AISSEE 2023-2024.
Class VI: The candidate must be between the ages of 10 and 12 as of 31 March 2023. Only Class VI is offered to female students in all Sainik Schools.
Class IX: At the time of admission, the candidate must have graduated from Class VIII at a recognised school and be between the ages of 13 and 15 as of March 31, 2023. There is no female admission to Class IX.
Exam fees for AISSEE 2023
Candidates who plan to take the AISSEE in 2023 must pay the application cost listed below. Only online payments are accepted for application fees.

# Others: 650 rupees
Eligibility Criteria of Sainik School Admission
Class VI: Candidate should be between 10 and 12 years as of 31.03.2023. Admission for Girls is open in Class-VI only in all Sainik Schools.
Class IX: Candidate should be between 13 and 15 years as of 31.03.2023 and should have passed Class VIII, from a recognized school, at the time of admission. Admission to Class IX is not open for girls.

# A candidate is qualified for admission to the Sainik Schools if he/she obtains at least 25% in each topic of the test and 40% in the aggregate of all subjects of the AISSEE 2023. Admission shall, however, be dependent on the relative quality (in AISSEE) of the candidate in his/her category at the school of choice, medical fitness, and verification of required papers.
# No minimum marks are required for applicants from the Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe categories. They will be accepted based on inter-se merit in the Entrance Examination within their respective categories, subject to satisfying the eligibility conditions, medical fitness, and document verification.
# If a candidate from the SC/ST/OBC(NCL) category is accepted on his or her own merit, he or she will be admitted against the general seat and will not be adjusted against the reserved proportion of SC/ST/OBC(NCL) seats.
