The Anundoram Borooah Award 2023, also known as ARBAS 2023, has opened its online application process by the Government of Assam. Eligible candidates can apply for the ARBAS 2023 Award through the official SEBA portal.

The Anundoram Borooah Award was initiated by the government to enhance healthy competition among students in Assam in 2005. Its primary objective is to promote updated knowledge and information through IT education, enriching the students’ understanding by using digital resources and the internet.

Until 2019, all eligible students under the Anundoram Borooah Laptop Award Scheme received a laptop computer with a 2-year 3G/4G internet connection. They also received textbooks as per the NCERT curriculum in digital format (PDF), a certificate, and digital content (2D/3D animations, audio/video) for all subjects. Additionally, online coaching and a score improvement system (OLCSIS) were provided to science students.
In 2020, due to the adverse effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the supply chain, students were given INR 20,000/- instead of a laptop computer. This decision was made considering the challenges faced by the government in procuring computers easily.
This year, the government has decided to transfer INR 16,000/- (only INR 16,000) directly to the bank accounts of each eligible student.
Students who have obtained star marks or secured 75% or more in the HSLC, High Madrasa, and FM examinations conducted by the SEBA and State Madrasa Education Board, Assam are eligible to apply for this scheme.
Passing Year: Students must pass their qualifying exams with the specified percentage in 2023.
